When entering the school (do-jang) one of the first things you'll see is a poster that says, "Rules: Be Cool" which sets the stage for the relaxed, fun, supportive environment you'll be training in.

Baltimore Taekwon-Do is a family-owned and operated business established and operated by Dan and Patricia DeArmas.  Mr. and Ms. DeArmas are a father-daughter duo that have been training and teaching Taekwon-Do for over a decade. Competing and coaching nationally and internationally, both have represented Team USA at the ITF World Championships of Taekwon-Do.

Serving ages 6 and up, Baltimore Taekwon-Do provides fitness with a purpose in a safe and friendly atmosphere while promoting the Taekwon-Do values of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.  Students of Mr. and Ms. DeArmas have not only gained great physical fitness but have also developed discipline, focus and confidence that has shown in their daily lives. Many of their students have gone on to be successful in other sports as a result of developing a foundation in Taekwon-Do. Baltimore Taekwon-Do also brings with them a group of highly experienced black belt assistant instructors, all certified with the ITF.

A focus on teaching authentic ITF Taekwon-Do sets Baltimore Taekwon-Do apart. Whether you're looking to improve your physical fitness, learn real self-defense, focus on mental discipline, or get into the competition scene, you can know that you are joining a team of people who truly care about what they teach you and strive to honor the origins of this genuine martial art.

Baltimore Taekwon-Do is a certified ITF program.

Mr. and Ms. DeArmas both holding teaching ITF licenses with Ms. DeArmas also holding an international instructors plaque.  These certifications and licenses require adherence to a standardized curriculum as defined in the Encyclopedia of Taekwon-Do as written by its founder, Choi Hong Hi.  Additionally, instructors must attend International Instructors Courses (IIC) regularly to stay current on the latest teaching methods.

For years, Mr. and Ms. DeArmas have been instrumental in development of young people through martial arts at established programs in Pasadena and Glen Bernie.

The Catonsville area has been carefully selected as the location for Baltimore Taekwon-Do and 721 Frederick Road is the perfect home. The DeArmas family is active members of the Catonsville community serving as volunteers for the Christian Athletic Association and operating the Traditional Learning Community Homeschool Center.
